This interpretive bookwork comprises of an evolving human fingerprint composed of words from a diagram of system of human knowledge found in Denis Diderot's encyclopedia. As the reader browses through the book, the ridges of the fingerprint transforms from line drawings to legible words, while the pages holding the graphic change from plan unbroken paper to weaves paper, fabric, and finally strings.
