Chameleon Lightbox, 2006
Wood (solid and bendable), plexiglass, acetates, steel, compact florescent fixture with switch.
Project Partners: Stephanie Geracitano, Michael Bishop, Carlos Ustariz
This "lightbox" is a result of studying the chameleon's ability to change skin pigmentation. The inner mechanish, has two independent wheels, each with an attached cylinder that has colored plastic covered holes. The combination of light going through the cylinders and the wheels being turned independently result in brilliant color combinations on it's "skin", demonstrated in the bottom right image.
