MONTREAL

In my first year in Montreal, I lived in a tiny studio apartment that is four minutes away from my University (McGill University). That was the first time I was living alone, so I had to deal with the little frustrations of being alone. Since then, I have moved farther away from downtown. It takes me about 30 minutes to get there from downtown by Bus, 20 minutes by commuter train (including  walking time), and 45 minutes if I decide to use the metro (which I have not used since I moved in). It's in a relatively quiet residential area. I am caught between an area of apartment blocks inhabited by ethnic people and an area of nice houses and duplexes mostly inhabited by orthodox Jews (most of whom sound like they are from New York in the way they speak).
